The Amazing Thailand Marathon Bangkok is the city's biggest running event — more than 48,000 people took part across all distances in 2025, when it also set new course records. Here's what you need to know for the 2026 edition.

Key facts

  • Dates: 28–29 November 2026, with races spread over the weekend.
  • Distances and fees (from the registration page): marathon 42.195 km ฿1,600 · half marathon ฿1,400 · 10 km ฿900 · 4.5 km fun run ฿700.
  • Start and finish: Sanam Luang beside the Grand Palace; the half marathon has started from MBK Center in recent years.
  • Route highlights: the Rama VIII and Phra Pinklao bridges, Democracy Monument and the old town — a sightseeing tour of Bangkok on foot.
  • Registration: in 2025 the marathon filled early with more than 5,000 runners, so check availability on the official registration page as soon as possible.

Start times

Published schedules put the marathon start at around 2:00 AM on Sunday 29 November, the half marathon at around 4:00 AM on Saturday 28 November, the 10K at around 6:00 AM and the fun run shortly after. Confirm the final times in your race pack — they're what decide your sleep and transport plan.

How to prepare

  • Practise early starts. A 2 AM marathon start means a very different race-day routine; our night running guide lists evening groups to train with.
  • Pace for the humidity. Late November is the start of the cool season, but nights are still humid. Check the race-day forecast and heat pace calculator the week before.
  • Plan your splits with the race pace band, and set a realistic goal with the race time predictor.
  • Plan transport. BTS and MRT don't run at 1 AM; book a taxi or Grab, or stay near Sanam Luang.
